One frequently asked question is "I want to start an Internet business, but I don't know where to start. What do I do first?" When you are starting something new, you don't know anything about it. That's normal. The question is what to do with it.
No Education Needed
Many people worry about whether they can run an Internet business without a university degree. Today some universities offer Internet Marketing degrees, but when I started there was no such thing. Many individuals with different backgrounds, from high school drop-outs to medical doctors, started websites and succeeded. Whether you have a PhD or not, there will be lots of things you need to learn from experience. You don't need to go back to school.
What you really need to be successful are results. Some people spend too much time preparing rather than making actual sales (results), and usually they give up in the end. That's because it's too hard to go on for long without seeing any income (result). You cannot launch a site without any preparation, but rather than strive to make it "perfect," do some basic preparation, launch the site ASAP, and make money (get results). You don't have to make millions in the beginning. A few hundred bucks (a small result) will make a difference. That small result motivates you to expand your business. And, that small success gives you confidence as well.
Some people are too afraid to make mistakes and have second thoughts about starting a business. Making mistakes is part of learning from experience. No matter how much you learn from books, you will make a lot of mistakes before you make a living online. Of course, you won't make any mistakes from doing nothing, but you won't achieve anything from it either. So stop worrying and start a business!
